    We almost got Hacked




    Yesterday night something bad happened. Someone was able to login to our VPS as root. I am not sure how?

    We got notified of it within minutes and changed root password, restarted VPS within 5 mins.

    Did a load of other things later ON .

    If anyone of you see anything odd anywhere either on blog or forum, report to me here or email me. Hopefully we are fine now.

    That's scary, the only good thing in that is no harm done. Hope we can stay away from such things in future. Long live Avinastech

    I'll keep an eye out as well. I know our HTM server has had some hacker attempts recently, luckily they failed. A few things to watch out for are numerous users signing up for the forum in a short period of time. Other things that they may try is to flood the server with traffic or the use of ICMP's. Like I said, I will watch for unusual activity and report it.
