I would ask you to include a rule towards hacking.
Most of the time there is a slight border between trick and a hack.
Users must think before posting up whether their trick would fall under the category of hack and try to avoid such contents.

Ya, what Kavin said is true in almost 90% of cases. The term hacking should be defined clearly I guess, for example tutorials that use hacking software, keygens, patches etc etc should be clearly mentioned.

No copied content from anywhere should be posted. Even if the same member has posted the content somewhere else like a blog or forum, he should not post it here.

I think this will have a negative impact as our primary conributors Mike and Grr post regularly on other foums.

Well mate, If you were admin of any forums at any time, you would know how big the problem gets when another forum or blog sends you a legal notice, or a DMCA notice or google adsense bans you for something like this or similar.

These are standard rules of copyright and I think everyone should respect that.

I have already talked about few exceptions to these rules like Freebies, giveaways or other promotions.

Yes indeed ashwin. It might look like a simple problem, but since copyright is a legal issue and the copyright to the post is reserved to admin and not to the poster himself, it really gets a thing to worry for the admins.

Lets live with this fact Ashwin.

Moreover Avi had faced a bad experience of its kind, so no problem.

I just have a suggestion that if the member posting can have a disclaimer in its signature, then no admin should be able to send Legal notice, or a DMCA notice; as then entirely it would depend on posting member & not admin..

What do you all think abt it?

Well, I have been open about everything on the forum. Regarding this issue, I know its not possible to defend if some forum or blog sends you a notice. Even if are able to defend , it takes a lot of time to prove that two guys are the same.

As I have faced this issue, I know how difficult it is to prove things like two guys are same.

Take the example of Raymond issue, till now they do not believe that i am a different guy than what they are thinking. So I put that in RULES to make my view clear on the forum.

After much thought, I am against that disclaimer thing too.

Just for the info, I did have been served a legal notice once for something like that, though it was not about copied content but something related to forum and blog. I had to remove that content immediately.

Hope you can understand my viewpoint.
