Application shortcuts turned into an unknows format-please help

Yesterday ,i am trying to run a scan for errors with system mechanic 10 standard(not virus scan),SM detected 2 errors.1. i error on my one of the hard drive.2-registry is 10% fragmented. After repairing,it prompt me to restart and then after a system reboot ,all my application's shortcuts turned into strange type of format.Though i can access everything by double clicking on the icons.
Take a look at my desktop screenshot.

    Try this trick niroop

    1. Right-click on an icon and choose Properties.
    2. Under ShortCut tab, select Change Icon.
    3. Now Choose an icon and the select ok.

    See if it works.
When nothing goes right, go left.

Could u restore the system back to an older date, if not SM had done enough damage to ur shortcuts via registry. Do as Sam suggested.

Niroop told me at the chat-box that even System Restore could not fix the issue
