Do you think Win 7 32bit or 64bit is better? Why?
A 64 bit system is theoretically speeder in processing data than a 32 bit one.
But practically you can feel the difference if you use your PC for multimedia functions. I am using a 32 bit for your info.
with not very specific & heavy applications, 32/64 bit seems 2 b the same.
moreover for 64 bit more RAM is required, at least 4gb..so is costly
Its not true that more RAM is required for 64 bit. The thing is it can support upto 128 GB of RAM whereas 32bit can only support upto 4 GB of RAM.
There is a bit od performance difference on 64 bit compared to 32 bit, but you wont feel it until you measure the timings in miliseconds as done by testers or you use a extensive application like Photoshop or any video editor.
I second Avinash's thought. You won't need a 4 gigs RAM for 64 bit system.
Mind that the minimum requirement of windows 7 64 bit is 2GB of RAM. For linux distros its even much smaller.
Thank you for all the insightful replies. I've tried both but I really can't feel any major differences between Win 7 32bit & 64bit versions.
I only use XP , I do not have Windows 7 but if avinash arranged a giveaway of Windows 7 then I participate to win and use Windows 7 lol

I use Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. I couldn't find a compelling advantage at the moment to use 64 bit. The only exception to that is that you can have more memory which I don't use half the memory I have now. so....I went with 32 bit.
When the need arises for me to use 64 bit, then I will go with it.

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, same as you and I will never replace it, it's in some way ideal for me. Microsoft did great job producing Win7 x64.
