I am writing this thread on behalf of Avinash.
Title explains it all, should we allow members to post about "limited license giveaways held at other websites", at our forum?

OHH... i am the only one who voted NO :D ....
Reason:- I always tried to be different so that why i clicked on the NO :D ........... on a serious note i am strictly against this limited giveaways notifications. Ofcourse it will increase the activity and we can get few more members here but it the long run it won't be helpful. Most of those members will be a spammer(read DUMB bloggers) who will only advertise their own stuffs. Btw there are many forums which does this job, why we will follow them? We have enough brains out here to think of something new to get back the activity. We can discuss on how to get activity back on some other thread and so would also like to stop here as i have clearly mentioned the reason for opposing the idea.

@Arnab- true, but the % of THOSE bloggers won't be more than 10%.
@ALL - if we ALLOW, pls consider the following points:
1. Identify prepare a list of all those forums/blogs/sites/vendors-which are allowed here to post either their own giveaways or someone else posting
2. Make separate sub-forums for EACH direct site giveaway such as tipradar, facebook, twitter, WinX direct, blog giveaways, special 7/10/30 days events...this would help US better organize+Moderate
In the end we Do Not want to have spammers here, but not every member who had (or will) post a limited giveaway is a spammer.

I voted yes, I always thought the limited giveways was something missing on the forum and I agree with Grr, those bloggers can't be that many.
I've been holding out posting in this thread because I wanted to read some comments and take in some of the members thoughts and reasons for their particular vote. I think both the members who voted yes and the ones who voted no have good points and both should be considered.
I guess my thoughts are why not. I definitely think there should be some guidelines in place for those types of posts and a special forum section dedicated to those types of giveaways. As long as it doesn't hurt the members or Avinashtech in any way then we should give it a try, perhaps even on a probationary status to see how it goes first. If things run smoothly and there aren't any issues then we can permanently implement it into the site. On second hand, if it causes problems then re-instate the rules about limited giveaways.
I think it is a good idea to try new things and try to progress as long as it doesn't cause any issues.

Personally I don't rely on WOT much because I think it could be easily tampered and cheated. Anyway, Thanks to you avi for giving a chance to post giveaways from sites that has low rating or no rating at all, after getting approval from mods. It will be good if we have a separate thread for getting giveaway approvals from mods, instead of sending private messages etc. Because, we can't rule out the fact that there can be few people on this forum who don't know their mods.

Regarding WOT... I do believe it can be and is manipulated, but majority of the cases it holds good. So it makes our job easy. For rest of the links we are here.
Also... for the time being its Green rating for both... The reason, it gives some credibilty that everything is legal as we cant check if all giveaways are genuine as we often encounter fake giveaways or pirated keys being given away.

I agree with you ash. Not many are comfortable posting at chatbox and that's why I suggested to have an exclusive thread to get permissions. That way, it'd be easier for mods to moderate and also members will know where to go to get permission for a giveaway....Quote:

Primarily, it's because the forum currently has a very high quality of giveaway posts.
Secondly, I'm not really against it per se... but there will be difficulties. You only need to take a look at the Freebies sections on Raymond.cc to get an idea of the headaches involved for the moderators.
I will say that opening it up will probably result in much more traffic. It's a question of how you set things up and how motivated the moderators are to undertake the extra work.
