Internet Connection icon has a red cross over it???

Hi Guys,
While i was surfing the web,i have seen that my internet connection icon has a red cross over it but i can still connect to the internet and surfing the web without any problem.
I don't know know how to fix that.Can you guys please help me out in this matter.

Make sure your network adapter has the latest driver. If it does, then uninstall and re-install the driver. If that fails you can try the following steps:

First, download the latest network adapter driver from the manufacturer website and install it in compatible mode. If the issue persists, temporarily disable the adapter and re-enable it again for a test.

Second you want to verify relevant service. To do this, do the following:

Click "Start", go to run, type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in the open box and press Enter.
Click Continue button to verify the administrator permission.
Right click the "Network Location Awareness" service and choose Properties.
On General tab click Start.
Choose Automatic next to Startup type.
Click OK.

Then restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking for a test.

Main issues I could think of:

1. u installed/removed some software
2. installed a new hardware
3. multiple network connections-wired, wireless
4. did some software/microsoft update
5. Did run a scan
6. if laptop, running on battery
