Just wanted to create a survey but dropped it as I couldnot create options.
Hence would like to know reasons from everyone who wish to tell, what prompted you to join this forum.
Start talking :), I would love to hear your thoughts....honest ones though, It may be giveaways too :)
Well for me first I found 'avinashtech.com' and started following the tweets, so the forum was a natural progression :wave: glad I found you all:dance:
The main reason would be friendly Environment :grouphug:

I was looking for some tech support (or advice regarding Antivirus as you may recall it Avi) when I joined the forum :p
Of course I found it through the blog and I am glad I did :heart:

Znalazłem możliwość poznania odpowiedzi na forum. Nie miałem innej możliwości jak tylko spróbować poszukać odpowiedzi tutaj. I nie żałuję. Podoba mi się.
A odpowiedzi jeszcze nie znam ... Forum ma wiele wpisów ...

I saw a posting on the dottech.org forum regarding the Birthday Giveaway. Sure glad I did!
At that time i was using NIS 2011 90 day trial, and of that only 10-15 days of trial left. I saw one advertisement from Mike in another forum that he is holding 1 giveaway of AVG Internet Security 2011(btw this giveaway is still active). The rules are you need to post a screenshot of AVG, installed on your pc, in this forum. At once i uninstalled my NIS 2011 and installed AVG, joined this forum and posted the screenshot. I got my AVG key thanks to mike.
Honestly i dint used that key coz truly NIS was much better(read- AVG was crap), which i understood in 3-4 hrs while it was installed on my pc. Again took the pain of uninstalling the avg and installing NIS. Happy with NIS 2011 now (still hope to get a PROPER license from any giveaways :p).

I been active on a couple of other forums before and even tried to change the attitudes on one big forum in my own country to become more friendly and open for new members. Don't know but assume much of how it's going to look like and how it's going to become in the end lays very much on those who manage these forums. Some people prefer a harder macho stile with much surface and sometimes it's difficult to participate in discussions if perharps having an more soft personality.
I like these forums there people can be as they are and don't have to pretend be something else.
Another thing which I noticed is this with religious believes and how big influence this has on how we treat each other at internet if this is included in our background or reached some experience from life. It's interesting to see the difference from forum to forum.

What prompted me to join the forum was the people. Everyone here is very cool and we all have a lot of the same interests (or we wouldn't be here would we?) Yes I like the discussions, reviews and giveaways , but it's the people and members that make me love it here. I thank all of you and everything this forum is about.

Friend was bugging me to join here before but whenever I typed the URL it gets redirected. It would do that for about as long as I can remember then I stopped. Now I have a new connection (still flaky darn it) but now it connects here nicely. I usually read and read first prior joining. Saw some usernames that are familiarly(trusted ones at that) also and read their posts/comments. All in all what I see is a pleasant forum you can share openly here. There aren't any "wisecracks" yet as compared to other forums that bash newbies or something when you post a questions that seems a bit awkward. I see none like that here. That to me is okay because for a newbie nothing is more scarier than having been intimidated to ask freely (especially when English isn't his native tongue..or pc language/apps whatever is not his native job --this is just a diversion/hobby for me..).
Successive reading of post here shows how warm you guys are and there aren't many like that around. Try looking at the overclockers forums there those are wiseguys with money to spare on their pc-toys. This forum is about information/help/sharing and that is superb! That is "ace" in my book..always been and always will be:)

This forum will be always remain friendly for everyone whether he is a newbie, a noob or dumb like me.
I always consider myself to be a learning student and hence there is no place here for "wisecracks" as you termed. Even I ask too dumb questions sometime and hence everyone can ask whatever they want no matter how dumb or silly this may appear to anyone else.
I hope I can keep this forum what it is now and will try to make it more friendly as much as i can.

Honest speaking, the software giveaway attracts me to join this Forum. After joining, I find every members here are nice and friendly especially the Moderators who really render their help and assistance to all members.

until march 2011 i was not aware of giveaways,i don't really remember or at that time aware of what i am doing. probably searching for oem version of some security suite, because actually i used fake one year license file for my AIS2011 which comes to an end within 2 months. by going through i searched your blog & come to know about freebies.now i am using avast free with hitman & malwarebyte. And said no to fake serial, cracks & patch. after that i came to know about forum now i like to share various things to members & getting knowledge through tips. very helpful for me as i love to gain knowledge about computer world. thanks:).
Honestly...I joined because of the giveaways. Now I see that here is a pleasant forum also so it's nice to be around here. There are some information here you cannot get from any forum. It sure is just a starter but who knows a year or two we can be something near Raymonds or far more better. Wuld like to see more techy-stuff-discussion here like hmmm..firewall rules creation or Microsoft update experiences...bugs or something.
