Do We need more Forum Categories : Opinions invited

This post is just to ask you guys, Do We need more Forum Categories ? Does the present forum categories miss something or miss many things? or does the forum categories cover everything :roll:

Opinion invited from everyone. So start writing dudes :mrgreen:

Ah thank you, postreply working again :) I was thinking prior about a category where we could discuss our hardware setups like computers, monitors, graphics cards, OS, etc... like a Hardware Discussion basically.
I think another would be Hints and Tips that would cover workarounds and other things for computer users. Just my 2 cents :)

I would be working out some new categories sooner or later.

May be I learned something new today about administering the forum not to make a post as global announcement if i need members to contribute in that. :P

I am going to create Three New forum categories :

Hardware Discussion

Software Discussions

Tips and Tricks

Any more suggestions? Do we need a separate one for Linux?

Avinash ,what about sub-forums under the above mentioned ?

Like Paul suggested, Windows installation and other stuff.

For eg: under Software: Subforums could be Windows, Antivirus, System tweaking tools,etc

It seems I am stuck now. The forum database got some problems perhaps and I can not create new forums.

May be I need to do some upgrades or correct the database. I will try to see what can be done but it may result in some forum downtime. :(

UPDATE :
I tried something with database and the forum went down. I am putting this on hold till i can clear the problem.

Whats the matter? I was unable to access the forum for a while, were you updating it?
I dont see any new additions. Hope everything is ok???

Perhaps you didnt read update in my last reply. Just read it.

BTW, all is well now and new Forum categories are added too. So start posting something there too. :P

Actually the last time i visited your site it was not updated, but now i see new topics here.

Avinash, i have seen other forums actually post direct links to freebies that give a license key. May i suggest that we try it here.
I think your readers would appreciate it if you point out useful softwares for them. You could try it just for freebies and not for personal advertising. Maybe this would help the forum grow.

Yes it was down for few minutes when i was doing something with the database. :)

Posting freebies is good, but no OEM keys directly. More info in your PM.

I have already replied to your PM. I didnt say OEM keys, but i was telling you about personal license keys, like Ashampoo normally offers.
Maybe we will have some luck, we just have to wait till such offers come

It is good that u have made reviews strict for the giveaways, it going to be solving 2 things (atleast what i think)

1. key/license collectors could be reduced
2 more software developers would come-up with giveaways, as i feel these reviews won't be biased, example my review on MBAM here.

Now having said that, currently the software section does contains posts for reviews, but not clearly visible. Hence i request if u could make a sub-section by the name "Giveaways Review" to have members directly go over there. 1 more thing, pls post a direct link to such reviews in the email u sent to winners..yes i feel lazy to browse 2 forum....& then to software...review post...

Just my thoughts..rest upto u..

I have a new suggestion.

For the Latest Releases, we now post both free+paid in the same section. It will be good if we can create 2 sub-sections for that sub-forum:
1. paid updates
2. free updates
