I saw a screenshot of Utorrent 1.8 at filehippo.com and the only change (in the preferences screen) between 1.8 and the current version is the "Transfer cap feature".

I have not used version 1.8 for over a year,but like I said before, if you get the same speed in the new version , nothing needs to be altered.
