Share as much detail as you can. I will share it later on when I am free from this new forum administration work which i am doing now.

Alrighty,
While I don't have the top of the line "everything" my computer is perfect for me and so here it goes...
Windows 7 X64 Pro
NZXT black case w\blue lights and two blue lcd 20 mm fans
1 tb Hitache sata drive
1 80 gig IDE western digital drive that I use for whatever
6 gigs Gskill DDR2 X800 dual channel w\heat sink
Huge thermaltake heat sink and fan
Asrock MB
Thermaltake 500 w psu
two DVD burners\readers, one just a standard, the other Lite on with light scribe
X64 4200+ AMD windsor dual core
22" HANNS-G lcd monitor
80W Logitech sound system "it rocks"
Razer Lycosa gaming board, lights up blue, matches pc
Razer DeathAdder gaming mouse, lights up blue as well
Ati radeon HD2600 512 Graphics card
That's the gist of it, and while not a huge deal to some, it's perfect for what I need and more than enough for others. It took a few years to complete by getting stuff little by little for father's day, bday, etc...
MIne PC config :
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel C2D 2.4 GHz
2 GB RAM
LG 8x DVD Writer
What else should i write, rest is just normal stuff thats needed. :P
Is your Computer an OEM or did you build it?Originally Posted by Avinash

I consider that a good thing If most could, I would suggest a home built, I don't like OEM.Originally Posted by Avinash
Well, many reasons for which i don't like OEm. First they are bloated with lot of software you will never need.Originally Posted by PChammer
Also, what hardware they use inside, you don't know and if you decide to change the operating system, its almost impossible to find the drivers sometimes as you really don't know what the hardware actually is inside. Most often , you will find no drivers for the hardware if you changed or upgraded or downgrade your operating system as the new OS isn't supported by OEM for that hardware.
The price difference too plays a crucial role as the difference for the same configuration between a custom one and OEM is too high.
In India, almost every Home computer will be a Custom one assembled with the help of local vendor or technician. :P
Wow, here in the U.S., unless you know someone, a vendor is going to charge you an arm and a leg to build anything. All good points about the OEM btw. I would also add that here, people think it's cheaper to go with OEM, in some cases, yes but in the long run it's far more expensive. I can upgrade anything without having to buy a whole new system and I've proven to numerous people who bring their "broken" computers to me, that mine has outlasted all their OEMs, mainly 2-3 new buys which exceeds my PC's cost by nearly 2\3 . Even if I had a major brake down, it wouldn't be much to replace it. It's almost funny how the warranty runs out on these about a month prior to disaster lol.
Well, here its like if you buy all the hardware components from same shop, the guy will assemble it for no charge. That makes the assembled or custom built systems cheap.Originally Posted by PChammer
Also, OEMs here don't have a wide service network. You will end up going to a local vendor or technician if something breaks until You are in a big city like in Delhi here or the OEM got a great service network which I don't think any OEMs have in India.
I have a small network of five machines. I build all my own computers. The one I just finished is as follows:
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P mobo
Intel E8500 CPU
6 GB G.Skill PC2 8500 RAM
2 WD 1TB WD1001FALS Sata drives
2 Lite-On 24X iHAS124 drives
Powercooler HD 3650 1GB video card
Dynacooler CPU fan
Win 7 ultimate 32-bit
Antec Sonata II case
I'm using the onboard audio for the moment. Decided to switch out my old 22" NEC CRT for a ASUS VK266H LCD monitor. Lots of real estate!
