Use different winxp install disks to install other versions

Ok guys u may be having a retail oem or msdn key and the installation disk of another type. As u know winxp wont take other types of keys on a particular type of disk.

So how to use ur key without redownloading xp. Simple

    go to ur winxp cd.
    copy contents to hdd
    go to floder 1386
    open setuppp.ini

NOW IF U WANT to change the type of disk CHANGE THE LAST DIGITS OF THE LAST LINE

OEM__ is an oem disk(does not specify royalty or normal oem)

    296(msdn disk)

000 (some retail and msdn disks)

    270 (VLK)

    335 retail

After doing this either reburn the iso or make a bootable pendrive.

NOTE if u make a bootable cd pls ensure the cd label matches the one given at the site below

to make bootable pd i suggest novicorp wintoflash

And don't forget about nLite if you want to customize and/or automate your XP install.
