    Can Mac Address of two systems be same? Wireless connection issues

    Well,

    Looks like I am asking something which I am not sure of.

    Can Mac Address of two systems be same? As far as I knew till now, it cant be. But my bro who was facing wireless authentication failures while connecting to WiFi found that two users with same MAC address was the reason of authentication failure (The Admin checked the logs and told this).

    I am still not sure if its possible. Correct me if I wrong and share your opinion.

    No avi even until i know it isnt possible. Even my pc can only be connected to net through my network adapter's mac address. If i connect some oher pc i cant use the net and hv to call them and they will allow that mac address. but when i again connect to my pc i hv to recall them. So until the network adapters is the same one mac address cannot be same as for as i know.

    Its a very rare case but it can happen. Ask your brother to change the Mac address.

    Google search with "mac address spoofing" and you'll get loads of info and tools to change mac address. SMAC is quite and effective tool for such purpose.

    I have not tried anything like this before, so;
    1. Do a system restore
    2. Have the network drivers handy

    No two systems can have the same MAC Address but as other members above pointed out MAC Address can be spoofed just like a another system MAC add.
