Definitely manual update for me, especially when it comes to drivers. As far as Windows updates, I have it set to notify me, but not to download an install. Sometimes even the Microsoft updates have stuff you may not want (i.e. Microsoft essentials, and some so-called important updates). I like to read what I am downloading rather than stuff be put on my machine without me knowing exactly what it is.

Manual updates, same like Jeremy, set it to notify only.

Especially, as some updates require rebooting
