Even I buy latest phones. The one Samsung I purchased was released during Mobile World Congress in Feb 2011 and I purchased it in March.
If I had 15,000 I would go for Blackberry or a Windows Phone. I think one of the Nokia Lumias are available in your range.

Nokia Lumia 710. IT costs 15240 Rs on flipkart. It is a recent model. IT has great apps bro. Go for Windows Phone.

It has great reviews and ratings on flipkart too. Nokia is great and trusted go for it rather than samsung.

Windows App store is still small if you compare Android and Apple App store. But yes, all important apps must be in Windows store already. Arnab can tell you exact position though.

Just now saw that WP7 market place reaches 100,000 applications mark. In 20 months it reached that mark.

OS- Thats Android 2.3 and Android 4.0. Android 4.0 is the latest version but only 7% Android phones has got Android 4.0. Obviously 4.0 phone are costly.

Display - Super AMOLED is the best display. Can't give much more infos about this.

The difference between WVGA and FWVGA is in the aspect ratio.

    Want following features:
    good camera
    memory card slot
    bluetooth
    wifi (optional)
    support 2G & 3G
    touch screen
    screen keypad
    good warranty
    long battery life
    lots of free apps

    Any suggestions. Looking for 10-15K
From what Arnab told me a few months back, WP7 lacks basic features like Bluetooth file transfer, File manager.
Of course I would love to own a Windows phone, but it would be my secondary choice. With my Android phone, I feel I've a mini-laptop in my pocket.

Android has all the features you have listed, even the battery life has improved with the hundreds and thousands of custom ROMs that are available for various devices.
We also have tons of free apps which include Office Suites, Dropbox and other stuff which you could even use for work.

Look for these features while selecting an Android Phone:
    1. Screen size: More than 3.5 inches
    2. Gorilla Glass Display
    3. RAM: Over 512 mb
    4. Processor: 1Ghz Speed
    5. GPU: Armv7 or higher.
    6. Camera: 5 mega pixels or higher. (with flashlight)
    7. Battery: Higher than 1300 mAH
    8. Adobe Flash support for the browser.

You won't get a high end phone for that budget. I would suggest picking a phone like the Motorola Defy. It has the features that I mentioned, but its outdated and has been replaced by the Motorola Defy Plus.

Buy from a reputed brand like Samsung, LG or Motorola. Don't bother with the others. Read reviews about whatever phone you want to buy. For example, flipkart had different models of the Samsung Galaxy SII, they were sold as the Galaxy SII but they had noticeable differences in the hardware. I think they discontinued the models after lots of complaints.
