Need step by step Photoshop tutorials

So, Its me trying to learn something new :P

I would like you guys to help me in learning Photoshop. I need Need step by step Photoshop tutorials if you know few good and simple ones. Keep in mind, I am zero in Photoshop. May be PChammer or someone else can point me to something useful

Well, the fact is, I am anti-photoshop and pro Gimp, mainly due to the fact of what they charge people for PS, I find it disturbing. My son however, uses Photoshop although, he has begun to like the Gimp interface too. In all actuality, Gimp and Photoshop have many similarities but here's a beginners guide, depending how new you are to it.

I may also ask my son to give you some tips, if I used PS, I would have to sanitize my hands afterward

I've been using PS since version 6. Since I retired, I haven't updated past CS2. Digging through my bookmarks, I came up with this:

There are many, many tutorials all over the 'net. They often feature some little trick which is really requires previous knowledge of Photoshop. Learn to use its' most powerful features - layers, curves, and the like - and you'll be able to do much of what you want. Another resource are manuals by Deke McLelland and Scott Kelby; get them second-hand through Amazon or eBay.

yes, they charge too much for photoshop which is bad.

Thanks everyone for the links. I have already started learning few things about it. May be i can learn it as much as i can :P. At least i can create some great logos or signatures or Avatars for self. :P
