    France vs Mexico: Mexico beat France 2-0

    June 18:
    Serbia vs Germany: The Germans had striker Klose sent off for a second bookable offence, a harsh decision by the ref.
    The Serbians took advantage and scored a goalwhich helped them win the match 1-0

    Slovenia vs USA:
    USA fought bravely to come back from 2 goals down to secure a 2-2 draw.

    England vs Algeria:
    Was one of the most boring matches of this year's WC, ending in a goalless draw


    June 19:
    Netherlands vs Japan:
    A fierce strike from Sneijder which took a deflection from the Japanese goal keeper secured an easy win for the Oranje.

    Ghana vs Australia: It was deja vu for Australia as they had another striker sent off with a straight red card. But they managed to draw 1-1 with Ghana

    Cameroon vs Denmark
    Cameroon have become the first side to be eliminated from contention of a last 16 berth after Denmark defeated them 2-1

    Paraguay beat Slovakia 2-0

    World Champions Italy were held to a 1-1 draw by minnows New Zealand

    Brazil thumped Ivory Coast 3-1 in a match where Kaka was sent off for hitting Kader Keita.
    The incident turned ugly with almost all players were involved in a brawl

    I do watch few matches in between but not such a big fan. Still good to hear from Ashwin, whats going on there.

    June 21:

    Portugal vs DPR Korea:
    It was raining, not just water, but splendid goals in Cape Town as Portugal thrashed North Korea 7-0, with talismanic skipper C.Ronaldo scoring for the 1st time in over 18 months for the national team

    Chile vs Switzerland:
    10 man Switzerland were defeated 1-0 by Chile after Behrami was shown a straight red card in the 1st half

    Spain vs Honduras:
    David Villa's brace was enough to secure a win for Spain over Honduras. Villa also missed a penalty iin the 2nd half

    2006 WC finalists France crash out of the WC after South Africa defeated them 2-1

    A solid looking Greece were beaten 2-0 by Argentina, which meant that the South Americans go through to the next round and the Greek team will head home

    Nigeria were held to a 2-2 South Korea, in a historic WC performance by the Asians who progress to the round of 16.
    Nigeria are out of the WC now

    Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0, but still both teams qualify to the round of 16 due to poor perfomances by the other two teams in the group, France and South Africa, both crashed out of the Wc.

    England beat Slovenia 1-0 thanks to a 1st half goal from Jermaine Defoe.

    USA beat Algeria 1-0 , courtesy a goal from Landon Donovan.

    England and USA qualify for the round of 16, while Algeria and Slovenia have been knocked out of the WC


    Germany beat Ghana 1-0 and Australia beat Serbia 2-1.

    Germany and Ghana qualify for the round of 16, while Australia and Serbia were knocked out

    Slovakia beat Italy 3-2:

    Defending WC champs Italy have been knocked out in the 1st round by Slovakia.

    Paraguay vs New Zealand 0-0:

    An unbeaten New Zealand side who drew all their 3 group matches were knocked out of the WC on points difference as Paraguay and Slovakia progress to the round of 16

    Brazil were held to a goalless draw by Portugal.

    Ivory Coast beat Honduras 3-0 but still both teams crashed out of the world cup.

    Brazil topped the group G, with Portugal finishing second.

    Winners qualify for the Quarterfinals

    Uruguay beat South Korea 2-0

    Ghana beat United States 2-1 in extra time

    Germany thumped England 4-1

    Argentina also thumped Mexico 3-1

    Netherlands beat Slovakia 2-1
