Well, I guess that their software didnt have a big impact when it was payware, maybe thats why made it freeware.What could be their agenda behind making it freeware?

No other versions Grr, just the one freeware
PS: I use Spyshelter personal edition (free), since it also has a rather good HIPS ability, I am not using Malware Defender

Actually 360.cn bought the software from torchsoft. The developer of torchsoft is now working for 360.cn. It has a big impact even when it was payware but as HIPS tools are for advanced users and this one is too much in that category it was not so popular. 360.cn is famous for making free tools. It also has a free AV, that uses Kaspersky engine but that is not available english....
