Virtual drive and Daemon Tools help?

my friend gave me this program, Daemon Tools, and said that i should install it in order to play some games. he said that it will install me an "virtual" drive.... can u help me with this "virtual drive" thing? can this Daemon tools affect my computer security or something? what are + and what are - sides of having virtual drive?

The answer is, its a virtual drive which means its a softare tool emulating CD/DVD drive but physically its not there. You need to make images of CD/DVD to use this. More details you can find in Avinashtech post here.
