Opera 11 alpha has been released
Read more at: source:Hooray! Today we released the first alpha of Opera 11 with Opera extensions. Extensions allow you to add new functionality to Opera. Some of these extensions might include new UI elements (such as buttons), while other can add sweet new functionality to web pages, such as a useful button for easy sharing on Twitter or Facebook, or the more "subtle" YouTube extension which adds a useful download button on the web page. Some extensions can even run discreetly in the background - blocking off pesky ads. :troll:
Right now we have about 15 Opera extensions available for testing from the Opera Extensions archive.
Whats new in Opera 11?
Extensions:
· Opera users can already extend their browser with Unite and userJS. You have also our standalone web applications Widgets. But now we're making it even better. Opera extensions allow you to easily equip your Opera browser with extra features. With the Opera 11 alpha, you can personalize your browser with all your pet features and functionality. From now on, it is you who defines the best experience with the Opera browser.
Opera Presto 2.6.37:
· Opera 11 alpha is not only about extensions. We equipped it with the brand new Opera Presto 2.6.37 with improved performance, hundreds of bug fixes, enhancements in Web Standards support and support for Websockets.
A new installer:
· At Opera we love speed and like to make everything fast, not only the browser but also the installation of Opera. Opera 11 will ship with a new installer for Windows. The installation/upgrading is now twice as fast, and the installer download is about 10% smaller. Off course we'll optimize it even further in future builds.
