While Google has been strong all year round on bringing new products and features for the users, this holiday season the Chrome community promised to work together for a good cause. Google Chrome rolls in an extension tagged as “Chrome For A Cause” which would raise money on each tab you open.
Users can directly get involved to a charity of their choice by simply downloading the Chrome for a Cause browser extension and surf the web. The Chrome system would count tabs while the user browses the Web. The Google Chrome community would donate money based on how many tabs are clicked on each day, a maximum of 250 tabs per day per user.
The community did not specify as to how much money it would donate per tabs clicked on, though it does estimate to donate up to $1 Million. People have a choice from five organizations to contribute to at the end of the day. Organizations include:
1. The Nature Conservancy Charity
2. Doctors Without Borders
3. Room To Read
4. Charity: Water
5. Un Techo Para Mi Pais
