Default ROM: Android Froyo 2.2.1 which I later updated to 2.2.2
2 months ago I flashed Cyanogen Mod 7 by Mik_Os on Avi's advice. version 6.5.5 running Android Gingerbread 2.3.4
Flashed CM7 by Mik 6.5.7 running Android Gingerbread 2.3.5
Current ROM: CyanogenMMatt v1.1 running Android Gingerbread 2.3.5

All my paid apps work on ICS. but some free apps aren't compatible atm Apparently the framework for ICS is different from GB.
I froze Apex Launcher and installed Nova Launcher
ICS ROM for P500:
