check ur registry for any eset keys. Once i just ran mcafee2010 setup(did not install it) and when i tried installing kav it told me mcafee was on the system. I manually scoured through the registry to find one mcafee key.

Try do delete all registry entries through "Registry Editor" manually.

Cleaning the registry might help you. For that you can use any good registry cleaners.

Even I faced this problem. Manually removing registry entries etc is waste of time, as it won't work. Follow the instructions link given by ashwin, its super easy and it worked for me. No need to go into safe mode and use command prompt (You can even use that method).

I'm Quoting some lines from kaspersky Support website
A new option has been added to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 / Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 which allows skipping scan for incompatible software during the product installation.

This option is recommended ONLY if you are absolutely sure that the third-party software was deleted but is still detected by the Setup Wizard of Kaspersky Lab 2011 products. Otherwise after the program installation the operating system may malfunction and even crash.
