    Are Go-Back's Tools really effictive?

Avinash lot people here in internet cafes use Go-Back's[Norton,Roxio,etc.] instead of Anti-Virus,What do you think about this? After all AV's aren't cheap atleast for many people here.

Well, utilities like Norton go back can only be used to restore yur system to a previous point but it wont protect you from malicious stuff like virus, Trojans, phishing etc. So it may result in some sensitive and critical loss of data for you in case of some virus or phishing attack.

I used GoBack years ago when it was still Roxio. Avinash is right; the best it can do is restore your computer to a previous state. If you were infected at that point, all it does is lose all your work since that time - and you're still infected! AS to AV, there are excellent free softwares that I can easily recommend. One is Avira AntiVir Personal Edition.
Another is Avast! Free Edition and I've been hearing good things about Microsoft Security Essentials, although I haven't tried it myself.

All three work with Windows 7.
