    Automatic Updates
You've asked for it, so here it is! Swype BETA now supports automatic updates directly from within Swype! Version 3.26 of the Swype BETA includes Swype Connect v2, which lets us deliver the latest Swype improvements directly to your device.

Break free of the SwypeInstaller - Once you've installed this latest version of Swype BETA you'll never have to use the SwypeInstaller again. Updates can be installed straight from the Swype Settings menu.
Get Notified - When a new update is ready, we'll send a notification right to your device. Never get stuck with an expired version of Swype BETA again.
Save your dictionary and settings - Since automatic-updates don't require you to uninstall Swype first, you'll be able to take your dictionary and settings with you when you upgrade. No more re-entering slang and curse words

    (More) Languages by Region
With this version we're adding a whopping 11 additional languages! To accommodate this dramatic increase in languages, we streamlined all of our assets so that Swype is smaller overall, and we've split everything into 4 regional downloads (plus 1 with all regions combined).

Americas: US English, Spanish, French Canadian, Brazilian Portuguese ~5Mb
Western Europe: UK English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Finnish ~10Mb
Eastern Europe: US English, UK English, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak ~9Mb
South East Asia: US English, UK English, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese (Simplified), Filipino ~8Mb
All Regions: Includes all 23 languages from the regional language versions. ~21Mb

*NOTE - WXGA (Honeycomb) builds are using the old English/Spanish and Full language formats. Please see for a table showing which languages are supported by which resolutions

    Refined Key Layout
We've changed the layout of the keyboard a tiny bit, so be prepared to unlearn what you have learned.

Numbers are now located along the top row of keys, similar to a traditional keyboard
The "Globe" key has been removed from all BETA builds (until we can make it an option in settings)
Added a second page to the symbols layer. Press the 1/2 key on the left to switch between them.

    Enhanced Settings & Help
Confused by our old settings, tutorial, and help? Did you feel like you couldn't find info on how to use Swype effectively, and thought our settings were cluttered? Yeah, we did too. That's why we grabbed "Settings, Tutorial, & Help" by the collar, kicked it out of the house, cut off its trust fund access, and told it come back when it got its act together! Lo and behold, our newly reformed "Settings" is back and is now, well, actually helpful!

Long-press the SWYPE key to quickly access Swype Settings any time
Update Swype straight from the settings menu whenever a new version is available
Learn basic and advanced techniques to become an experienced Swyper. Do you know about "bouncing" and the auto-space suppress gesture? How about the editing layer? Check it out!
Set available languages and you'll never be offered a language you don't use when switching languages on-the-fly.

As usual, we also have a ton of bug fixes, so check the changelog in the second post to see if an issue that's been bothering you is resolved!

    Enjoy!

    SWYPE BETA v3.26 update 1

    (UPDATE 1) Context Prediction Engine
With our first over-the-air update, we've enabled our Context Prediction Engine. By analyzing the text you've already entered, Swype will offer more accurate predictions that make sense in the context of the sentence

40% increase in prediction accuracy when a language profile is present
Learns over time as you use it, building up a personal language profile for you.
Enabled only for English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Other languages coming soon! *Note* French Canadian does not have a pre-loaded static language model, and so will only show improved accuracy after continual use.

    (UPDATE 1) Japanese Language Support
We've added support for Japanese (kana-kanji conversion). Japanese is only available in the Pan-Asia package and NOT the All Regions package.
As usual, we also have a ton of bug fixes, so check the changelog in the second post to see if an issue that's been bothering you is resolved!

A new version of Swype is out. It is called as Swype Beta, and will get installed as "Swype Beta Installer and Swype Beta".
So you need to uninstall the old version.

    Changelog:

    Multimodal
Swype now delivers a four input modalities in one keyboard. Swype from letter to letter; Type rapidly with predictive text input powered by XT9; Swype naturally through a fully integrated Dragon button; or, simply Write letters, words and symbols using your fingertip.

    Living Learning Keyboard
Swype builds a personal language model to fit your input style. It’s a ‘living keyboard’ as we call it. The more you use it, the more accurate it gets.

    Next Word Prediction
Swype has integrated advanced bi-gram and tri-gram modeling from the XT9 portfolio, to provide uncanny next-word-prediction. With Swype’s learning language model, the predictions are more accurate with each use.

    New Look and Feel
Swype is snazzier than ever. We’ve redesigned the product from the ground up. We’ve made an effort to simplify both interaction and interface for a much cleaner look. And there’s no more globe key—just long press the space bar to change languages!
    Next Generation Swype Beta

    Voice-Text Dictionary Syncing
Every new word added to your personal dictionary gets added for both speech and text. Swype has a unified language model, so after new words are added to your dictionary you can speak or write them no matter how unique or specialized. You can even have Swype learn from emails, texts, Facebook and Twitter.

…AND, you asked for it! Swype Beta now supports:

Default dictionary editing! Just long press on the word when it’s in the horizontal candidate list to remove it from your default dictionary
Personalization with Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, and SMS! Import words from previous SMS messages in Swype Settings > Swype Connect > Personalization. We also grab contacts from Gmail and Facebook, and messages from Twitter.
Major improvements to Korean and Chinese. Swype supports ChunJiIn keyboard for Korean. Chinese now supports both Simplified and Traditional input in Pinyin, Zhuyin, Bihua, Canjie and Quick Canjie.
Install Swype Beta alongside your pre-installed version of Swype! You no longer do you have to root your device to get the Swype Beta if Swype is pre-installed. We’ve changed the namespace so you can maintain your perfectly tested pre-installed Swype keyboard AND try out the latest and greatest from Swype.

    Enjoy!

    See the awesome in action:

Swype Beta 1.3 is out. If you already have an older version, it should notify you to download the new update. If it doesn't, just go to Swype settings> Updates and check it out.

Dictionary Backup & Sync: Swype now backs up and syncs a user’s personal dictionary across any of their mobile devices. So now when nicknames like “Ollie” are added to a mobile phone, that word will be automatically added to the personal dictionary on a tablet as well as all other registered devices.

Swype for Tablets: Swype has taken tablet innovation to the next level by offering a choice of three different keyboard layouts for tablets: the original keyboard, a small and moveable keyboard, and a split keyboard. So no matter what style keyboard, people can stay connected and productive from anywhere.

Hotwords: Language is evolving faster than ever and Swype now updates dictionaries with the latest global trending words. Swype users can opt-in to receive updates to their dictionaries and stay up to date with the newest ‘hotwords’, like “Gangnam Style.”

Themes: Swype allows users to further personalize their devices with the new keyboard theme options. Users can access up to 10 different themes in Swype’s settings menu for quick and cool keyboard customizations.

More Language Support: The latest update to Swype also features enhancements to the Chinese keyboard with an additional tool bar and has added a Flick keyboard to Japanese. Users can also expect many more languages with Advanced Language Models that predict the words and phrases users Swype the most.
