Agreed with Corker! Revo is definitely not the holy grail of Uninstallers...

The Wait Is Over: Revo Uninstaller Pro 3 on The 8th of February 2013

It was late as it had been planned for the last quarter of 2012. I presume old keys for Revo v2 aren't applicable due to its major version upgrade policy.
This latest version comes with several brand new and improved regular features, including the new offline scheme to simplify the registration process.

    • Added - Logs Database of prepared from us logs ready for uninstall
    • Added - Integration between the modules for the best uninstall results
    • Added - Quick/Multiple Uninstall command
    • Added - Export, Import, Edit and Review logs
    • Added - Details Panel about selected program/log in Icon view
    • Added - Export in HTML of found leftover data and logs data
    • Added - Possibility to uninstall few traced logs at once
    • Improved - Scanning algorithms for leftovers
    • Improved- Speed of parsing and unninstall of logs
    • Improved - Many minor and user interface improvements
    • Improved - All additional tools included in Revo Uninstaller Pro
Full list can be found here:

I'd like to highlight the Change Icon and Add Comment commands (plus the Search) as they provide advanced programs installation management. These features have become a long residents of Total Uninstall which favored Total Uninstall over Revo in term of installation manager. So finally Revo adopted them. Late indeed, but better than never.

IMPORTANT: Customers that have purchased a license for Revo Uninstaller Pro after October 01 2012, can use their current serial number to register Revo Uninstaller Pro 3 for free
Maybe it also works if you got your license from a giveaway instead of buying it...

When did your get the license? was it after October 01 2012?

Did you have to uninstall the v2 to install v3? I also have a license but I got it before that date so I didn't even try it.

I wrote Revo after my license would not upgrade. This is their reply.

    Hello,
    thank you for your feedback!

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If your serial number was generated after 1 October 2012 you should be able to upgrade Revo Uninstaller Pro to version 3.0 for free. But your serial number is generated before that and because this version 3.0 is a paid upgrade you will have to purchase an upgrade.

So you can continue to use version 2.5.9 with your current serial number:

You should not have problem to register version 2.59 with your serial number.

Another option is to purchase an upgrade license.

    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Revo Uninstaller Support Team

    Thanks Mike,

I just found this at their .

Is the license of Revo Uninstaller Pro a lifetime license?
Purchase of a License includes free lifetime technical support and free updates of the program, till the next major version, i.e. 3.1.1; 3.5.0, 3.9.9 free updates till version 4.0. Major version (like 4.0) will include major improvements and major new features. Depending on its features you can decide to upgrade by purchasing an upgrade license (significant discounts will be applied) or to continue using the purchased version. You can continue using the major version for which you have purchased a license for as long as you want.

With such timeframe and sponsoring so many giveaways here and there, no wonder they decide that now is the time to deprecate old keys and ask for more money.
